Making friends and having fun at Camp
Campers at World Explorers at Summer Friends Camp had a fun filled summer. The camp's goal, as explained by camp director, Earl Sissell, "is to give our campers the opportunity to safely explore and appreciate the diverse people who inhabit our planet, the places where they live, and the ways in which they have adapted to their environments. We believe that by better understanding one another, our campers will have the tools they need to resolve conflicts peacefully and make our world less overwhelming and more safe".

Latin American Studies
During the first four weeks, campers explored the Latin American world. They read books, created paintings, pottery and masks, made music, ate Latin American food, and learned to speak a little Spanish. An exhibition was held at the culmination. Families and friends wandered through the displays of campers' artwork including Huichol yarn art bowls, maracas, molas, Guatemalan worry dolls, and Aztec clay suns. The campers also entertained their guest with Spanish songs.

Asian Studies Throughout the second half of the camp, the activities centered around Asia. The campers created many works of art based on ancient Asian traditions, read Chinese folktales, ate Asian foods, and learned to speak and sing a little Chinese. Working individually and in groups, the campers created a beautiful Asian Exhibition.
