Media-Providence Friends School is seeking a Director of Extended Day Programs (Part-time) to begin as soon as the appropriate person is found. The Extended Day Director reports directly to the Head of School. She or he is expected to have a respectful, cooperative and positive attitude toward all faculty, staff, students, and parents and conduct himself/herself in a professional manner in keeping with the Mission and Educational Philosophy of Media-Providence Friends School, a Quaker school.
Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Hiring, in consultation with the Head of School, training, managing, and supporting Extended Day staff;
- Setting the Extended Day calendar, including arranging visiting artists, activities, and events;
- Communicating with classroom teachers regarding student behavior to ensure consistency between School Day and Extended Day expectations and supports;
- Communicating about the Extended Day program to parents and participating in meetings and phone conversations, and by email or other means to answer parent questions and concerns;
- Working in cooperation with the school registrar to monitor and manage Extended Day attendance;
- Working in cooperation with the Enrichment Coordinator to ensure transition of students between programs;
- Working in cooperation with the Business Manager and Head of School to monitor the program finances and budget, including income and expenditures to ensure that the program meets its financial goals;
Other responsibilities may be assigned by the Head of School from time to time.
An Associate's degree in education is required, Bachelor’s preferred, as are 3 years of full time experience teaching or running an afterschool/afternoon program.
