What do you think is the most important lesson you’ve learned at MPFS?
Just try to be open to new things. I really didn't feel comfortable with new things until I came to this school, but then I started to open up a lot more.

Head of School Update #8: COVID-19

Dear Friends,

It feels very strange, still, to be writing this email a week from the end of the school year without being on campus with everyone for the last two months. I want to express my deepest appreciation for the way the MPFS community has stayed together and stayed positive; it's been wonderful to experience and witness...

Anything you want your family, friends, or teachers to know about your MPFS experience?
It was a one of a kind experience and it differs from public school. This was my first private school and quaker school. I realized this was a really good school and it gives you 1-on-1 learning. Plus, you learn stuff very fast cause of the teaching methods here.

I want my teachers to know how grateful I am for everything they did. I really didn't like school when I (started attending MPFS) and now I love school and I love all the people here.

What do you think is the most important lesson you’ve learned at MPFS?
Probably to try new things and take opportunities. Especially at a small school. I think you're given more opportunities and more people notice you, so it’s good to try new things...

What do you hope is the same at your new school as MPFS?
Having a close group of friends. This 8th grade class is probably the closest class I have ever had. I want to make sure I find a group of friends at my new school where I can be that close to them.

Anything you want your family, friends, or teachers to know about your MPFS experience?
I would like for them to know that when I first came to the school, I didn't think I was gonna get much out of it. I was coming from a big school and I thought, oh it's small and I'm not gonna have much of an experience there. But I really got a lot out of it and I learned a lot over the last three years. I wanna thank my mom for bringing me to the school and looking into it.

Head of School Update #8: COVID-19

The PA Department of Education has announced that they are "Planning to reopen schools in the fall". This is consistent with what I have been hearing and seeing in various webinars and conversations. As I mentioned in my prior update, I still believe we will have to transition to distance learning again for a period of time in late fall or early winter...

What do you hope is the same at your new school as MPFS?
I'm hoping that the bond between the students is the same. And how they look out for you. The same with the teachers. Like just because they have the job doesn't mean that they have to perform at their best or really care but (at MPFS) they do. I really want that to stay.
