In this 4 week, 2 hour online acting course, 6th-8th grade and high school students will learn audition preparation, cold reading technique, character development, and script analysis. We will discuss making character choices, having a point of view and how to tell the story of your character well. Each student will have an opportunity to work on scenes or monologues weekly with supplied materials, as well as materials the students themselves may wish to discuss. We will be using the play “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” as a reference for many of our discussions & scenes - it is asked that the students purchase their own physical or e-book copy (available thru amazon.com) and be familiar with the text prior to our first class.

We will play these games together online, then you will be able to continue the math fun, playing them with family and friends at home. You will receive all the supplies you need in the mail to play these awesome games, including: dice, paper, a deck of cards, mini whiteboard and marker. We will review math skills from the state standards. It will be a great way to refresh your math knowledge and have fun from the comfort of your own home. All game materials will be provided and delivered to your home or mailed, depending on your location.
Math Game Camp will be taught by T. Dee Amey, an elementary teacher who worked at MPFS as a long term substitute for third grade this spring.
