Summer Friends Canceled: COVID-19 Update
Dear Summer Friends Camp Families,
Hello again! We hoped by this time that we would be able to enact our “Plan B” and commit to opening Summer Friends to run in July and August, but unfortunately, it has become clear that this option is not within reach. Today we write with very heavy hearts to tell you Summer Friends is canceling our 2020 season. We have also determined that we are unable to offer virtual content in lieu of our traditional day camp experience.
We know this will be very disappointing news for campers and families who have been holding out hope that Summer Friends would be a much-needed respite once COVID-19 loosens its grip. We know because we (the Summer Friends counselors, staff, and administration at MPFS) are heartbroken, too. Please understand that our priority is to care for and safeguard our community and we are hopeful and determined to return next summer when we have better systems in place to navigate COVID-19.
MPFS is committed to refunding all registrations by the end of this month. Please contact the office manager, Syreeta Bacon at firstname.lastname@example.org for your full refund. Also, please consider converting all or a portion of your registration fees to a tax-deductible donation to support MPFS. We recognize that many families are not in a position to make a donation at this time, and we understand. There is no pressure to make a donation and we appreciate you considering our request.
Thank you for your patience and understanding throughout this process. Remember to follow our Facebook page - Summer Friends at MPFS for important updates. We look forward to reconnecting with all our Summer Friends families in the summer of 2021.
