Who is your favorite musical artist or band? What is your current favorite song?
I don't have a favorite musical band or song, but I like Americana music.

What is your favorite television series or movie?
I like The Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Life on This Planet, Stranger Than Fiction, Monty Python, Turner & HoochThe Hunger Games, O Brother Where Art Thou, and Fletch.

What is your current favorite book?
All Rick Riordan Books, The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart, Never Cry Wolf by Farley Mowatt, Hunger by Michael Grant, The Arc of a Scythe by Neal Shusterman, The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, and Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson.

What grade did you start at MPFS and who was your first teacher?
Kindergarten with T. Heather.

What is your favorite MPFS memory, event, or tradition? And why?
I really miss Winterfest because it was so much fun. I also like Pizza Pumpkin Night because you can reconnect with previous eighth graders. I love Bear Creek.

What interests have been sparked during your time at MPFS?
Science, art, reading.

What do you think is the most important lesson you’ve learned at MPFS?
Value your friends, and take your time with your problems. Not everything is as complicated as it seems. (From "Everybody's' Free" by Baz Luhrmann)

What do you think you’ll miss the most about MPFS?
The community.

Where are you going to high school?
Friends Central School

Are you looking forward to trying any new activities, sports, or subjects in high school? Yes. I am going to try out for the track team.

Do you have an idea of what you’d like to study in college or what you might want to be when you grow up?
Nope. I'll figure that out when I get there.

What advice do you have for next year’s middle school students?
Have fun and don't forget to turn in your assignments on time, remember to do your homework, and bring the necessary supplies, and wear sunscreen. Don't worry about the future, or worry, but worry knowing that worrying about the future is about as effective as solving an algebra problem by chewing gum. Don't waste your time on jealousy. Dance. Get to know your parents, you never know when they'll be gone for good. Be nice to your siblings, they're your best link to your past and the people most likely to stick with you in the future. Respect your elders. The older you get, the more that you'll need the people that you knew when you were young. Accept certain inalienable truths. Do not read beauty magazines; they will only make you feel ugly. Don't congratulate yourself too much, but don't berate yourself either. Be kind to your knees. (I got a lot of this advice from the song "Everybody's Free" by Baz Luhrmann.)

Anything you want your family, friends, or teachers to know about you or your MPFS experience?
I had a great time and I'll never forget it.

This marks the final interview in our "Countdown to Graduation" series! Congratulations to Hydan and the entire Class of 2025!
