A Conversation with Xavier Stanek: MPFS Class of 2026

As we count down to graduation, we’re getting to know the incredible individuals who make up the Class of 2026. Each day leading up to our graduation ceremony on June 9, we’ll be posting one Q&A. Today, we’re delighted to shine a spotlight on Xavier Stanek.

Describe yourself in three words. 
Athletic, tall, and smart.

When you’re not at school, what activities or hobbies do you enjoy?
I play sports, play chess, and like to read.

Who is your favorite musical artist or band? What is your current favorite song?
Kanye West. My favorite song is "Gone" by Kanye.

What is your favorite television series or movie?
Swagger.

What is your current favorite book?
Game Changer by Tommy Greenwald.

What grade did you start at MPFS?
Preschool.

Who was your first teacher?
Teacher April.

What is your favorite MPFS memory, event, or tradition? And why?
My favorite MPFS memory is Pizza Pumpkin Night. I loved playing with my friends and seeing alumni while eating delicious pizza and apple cider donuts. Plus, the pumpkin that you get at the end of the night is always an important part of the experience!

What interests have been sparked during your time at MPFS?
I started to want to do more engineering in the future because the school offers a lot of opportunities to explore it.

What do you think is the most important lesson you’ve learned at MPFS?
I think that the most important lesson that I have learned at MPFS was how to manage your time wisely.

What do you think you’ll miss the most about MPFS?
I will miss the connections I have made at this school and the familiarity of the campus. I know where everything is here, and it will be all new for high school.

If you attended the Costa Rica Trip, what do you think you'll remember the most about that trip? What memory will stick with you?
The memory of ziplining will always be one of my favorites. I loved ziplining over the cloud forest, having one of the best views of my life.

Where are you going to high school?
Episcopal Academy.

Are you looking forward to trying any new activities, sports, or subjects in high school?
I am looking forward to taking more classes and playing sports that will be very competitive.

Do you have an idea of what you’d like to study in college or what you might want to be when you grow up?
I would like to study something math- or science-related. I am still not sure what I want to do specifically.

What advice do you have for next year’s middle school students?
Push out of your comfort zone and try new things.

Anything you want your family, friends, or teachers to know about you or your MPFS experience?
Mom and Dad, thank you so much for letting me stay at MPFS. I think that there is no other school like this and I never want to leave. To all of my friends, I hope you realize that I am not forgetting any of you.
