At Media-Providence Friends School, summer has always been a season of joy, discovery, and community. For over 50 years, our Summer Friends camp has been a staple of the Media borough. As we look toward the 2026 season, we are thrilled to announce a vibrant "Fresh Start" for the program!
From a brand-new look to the STEAM-themed playground, here is what’s new at Summer Friends this year.
New Leadership, Same Friends Values
We are excited to welcome a new leadership team dedicated to fostering the same safe, inclusive, and creative environment that guides our school program. Rooted in our Friends values, their vision for 2026 focuses on intentional play and ensuring every camper—from age 3 to 10—feels seen, valued, and inspired.
A New Visual Identity
You might notice something a little different about our look! We’ve launched a refreshed Summer Friends logo. The modern design features a "retro flair" that pays homage to our 50-year history while embracing the bright future of our camp community.
The Heart of Play: Our New STEAM Playground
Perhaps the most exciting update of all is our brand-new STEAM-themed playground. This isn't just a place to play—it’s an outdoor classroom! Our campers will be the first to enjoy:

The Planetarium & Rain Garden: For hands-on environmental science.

Engineering Zones: Featuring moveable foam blocks and specialized climbers.

Active Spaces: A large rubberized turf field and basketball hoops for team sports and high-energy fun.
Adventure Awaits: 2026 Weekly Themes
Our curriculum balances structured learning with the classic, carefree spirit of summer. This year’s lineup includes signature trips to some of our favorite regional spots:

Animal Kingdom: A trip to the Brandywine Zoo.

Under the Sea: Exploring the Adventure Aquarium.

Crafty & Creative: A colorful day at the Crayola Experience.

Instructional Swimming: Campers ages 5+ will head to Knowlton Swim Club twice weekly for water safety and recreation.
Join Us This Summer!
Whether your child is a "New Friend" or an "Old Friend," there is a place for them in our community. Summer Friends 2026 runs for 10 weeks, from June 15 through August 21.
Registration opens February 1, 2026. * Full Summer Savings: Receive a 10% discount when you register for all 10 weeks!
