🔬 Sixth Graders Get Hands-On at Villanova's PAGES Conference

On October 4, Sixth Grade scientists—Soraya Arttaway, Lelia Kabangai, Arwa Salim, and Zoey Stanek—represented Media-Providence Friends School at the PAGES (Philadelphia Area Girls Enjoying Science) mini-conference at Villanova University. View an album from the event here.

The day was designed to inspire the next generation of female scientists. The students heard an empowering keynote from Cori Dormeir, Director of Sample Management at Merck, who shared her journey in a science career. Most excitingly, the girls participated in three hands-on experiments led by local female scientists and professors. The experience was a major success: all four students returned to campus with increased enthusiasm for science and are now considering future careers in the field!
