Summer Friends at MPFS

Summer Friends provides children ages 3*- 10 with an opportunity to participate in weekly thematic units taught by experienced counselors and elementary teachers. Learn more below.

The children at Summer Friends participate in a wide variety of experiences that help them shape their vision of the people and the world around them. Children enjoy the freedom of summer in a welcoming and relaxed environment. 

The campers at Summer Friends are free to explore, play, and express themselves in the safe community found year-round at Media-Providence Friends School. Smaller groups allow for meaningful interaction with teachers as well as other children of similar ages and all activities are tailored for campers’ developmental and physical levels.

Summer Friends is led by professional educators and experienced specialists, with additional staffing provided by counselors-in-training (many of whom are MPFS alum.) Our counselors excel in crafting an environment that fosters creativity, enthusiasm, and exploration. Camp staff are committed to inclusivity and building community for a safe, welcoming camp experience.

Onsite programs are complemented by special weekly presentations from magicians, scientists, the Philadelphia Zoo, and more, as well as field trips to nature centers, zoos, parks, theaters and other local events.

Twice weekly, campers age 5+ participate in instructional and recreational swimming* at Knowlton Swim Club with certified water safety instructors.

Morning Drop-off begins: 8 AM
Camp Day: 8:30 AM -3:45 PM
(Full days only)

Camp Sessions & Fees

One week registration is available for the cost of $400 per week. Families who enroll for all 10 weeks will receive a 10% discount.

  • Week 2: June 23 - June 27
  • *Week 3: June 30 - July 4
  • Week 4: July 7 - July 11
  • Week 5: July 14 - July 18
  • Week 6: July 21 - July 25
  • Week 7: July 28 - August 1
  • Week 8: August 4 - August 8
  • Week 9: August 11 - August 15
  • Week 10: August 18 - August 22

*There is NO camp on July 4.  Week 3 registrants will receive a reduced rate.* 

Cancellation Policy

Camp registration is nonrefundable and there are no reductions in fees or reimbursements for days missed due to illness, vacation or any other reason.
